On Sunday, September 29, 2019, supporters of the Joe & Dorothy Chaves Foundation will be holding our 8th annual 5K Walk/Run to remember José Chaves and to support important scholarships and community programs for the Portuguese-American community of Greater Boston.
Whether you like to walk or run, please join us along the route described below. FINISH Line festivities will take place at Saint Anthony's Church where refreshments will be served.

Participants will begin their walk at Inman Square with an official send-off starting from Naveo Credit Union (START LINE). Walkers will then make their way, on the sidewalk, down Cambridge Street through East Cambridge then across the Gilmore Bridge to Bunker Hill Community College (this is turn-around point), then back to Saint Anthony's Church hall for refreshments (FINISH LINE).
All participants are required to sign a waver prior to, or at, the event.
Participants in the Joe Chaves 5K Walk-a-thon, will assume all risks of personal injury, death, or property loss that occurs as a participant. Participants certify that they are physically capable of participating in this event and are 18 years of age or older, or I are the legal guardian of the child(ren) attending this event. Participants grant full permission to the event organizers to use and publish their name and image as a participant in all media.
